A Little About Myself.
My name is Michelle Carrasquilla, I am an artist and teacher from the northern suburbs of Chicago. I grew up in the Chicagoland area and currently reside in Seattle Washington. I currently am the Department Chair of the Performing and Fine Arts Department and am a Visual Arts Teacher at the high school level.
Art became my passion at a young age after my father died. I found an amazing outlet in art. I received my education from The University of Iowa and Northern Illinois University. I received a Bachelor's in Art education along with a Type 10 K-12 certification. In addition I have a Masters of Fine Art from The School of the Art Institute Of Chicago.
Because of my love for all things creative, I have found ways to adapt my passion in various other creative pursuits. I am a muralist and scenic painter. I also do make-up professionally as a freelance artist and have my esthetics license from Tricoci University of Beauty Culture.
I am a conjugated artist who works across mediums but mainly focus on painting. Currently I am working on large circular kaleidoscopic oil paintings which focus on my fascination and background in the beauty industry, modern day feminism, growing up behind a screen and masking.
